Jacqueline Marcote De Moya
Jacqueline Marcote De Moya began her insurance career over 30 years ago working in an Independent Insurance Agency. She then became a licensed insurance adjuster and has worked as a company adjuster, an independent adjuster, a supervisor and a claims manager for the insurance companies where she has adjusted thousands of property damage claims.  Throughout her career she has handled many different types of insurance claims, including property damage claims, commercial claims and liability claims.  She has also worked numerous storm claims both as an adjuster and in a managerial capacity.  

Jacqueline worked for almost a decade as a Public Adjuster handling first party property damage and commercial claims on behalf of policyholders.  She was also an appraiser for insurance companies as well as for policyholders and has been chosen as an Umpire to resolve disputes between insurance companies and policyholders.   

Ms. Marcote De Moya became an attorney to better assist the policyholders obtain fair compensation from their insurance companies.  She is licensed in the State of Florida and in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.  She is a member of the Florida Bar.  
Her  experience and understanding of the Insurance Industry places her in a unique position when representing policyholders in their claims. Having worked as a staff and independent adjuster for the insurance companies, she knows specifically what they are looking for and how to represent her clients in an efficient manner.  Having worked both sides of the fence gives her an invaluable advantage above other attorneys.  

Adela Z. Marcote
Adela Z. Marcote began her insurance career over 30 years ago as a licensed Insurance Adjuster. She worked as a staff, Independent and Public Adjuster. As a staff and Independent adjuster she has handled all types of property damage claims and has worked numerous storms throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. In 1991, she became a Public Adjuster and successfully represented thousands of policyholders in their insurance claims. As a Public Adjuster she has handled many storms including Hurricane Andrew, Katrina and Wilma. She has successfully represented hundreds of clients in appraisal and mediation. Ms. Marcote’s experience and understanding of the claims handling process is extremely helpful in her legal representation of policyholders in their claims. Having worked for the insurance companies she knows the specifics of what they are looking for and how to represent clients in an efficient manner.

Ms. Marcote is licensed to practice law in the State of Florida and in United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. She is a member of the Florida Bar and the American Bar Association. 
Teresa J. Urda 
Teresa J. Urda is of counsel to Marcote and Marcote DeMoya, PLLC. She has represented clients in all types of litigation, including complex litigation, for 20 years. Her litigation practice has included the representation of a wide variety of institutional and individual clients in complex business and commercial litigation, commercial real estate litigation, construction litigation, lender liability, and professional liability. She has practiced in the area of insurance law, both in representing insurance companies and representing policyholders who are engaged in a dispute with their insurance companies, in a mix of residential single family, multi-unit dwellings and commercial enterprises. As a litigator and trial lawyer with 20 years of experience, Ms. Urda has spent substantial time litigating cases in the courtroom, and she has gained the respect as a trial lawyer responsible for many victories.  

Ms. Urda is fluent in Spanish. She is licensed in Florida, and is admitted to practice in the State of Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the United States Court of Appeal for the Eleventh Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. She is a member of the Florida Bar.

Marcela Irimiea
Marcela Irimiea has actively participated in all aspects of Plaintiff's insurance first party cases since 2011, when she was admitted to the Florida Bar. Marcela was a lawyer in Romania. She was a member of the Bar of Tulcea from 1999 through 2006, where she represented clients in complex civil, family, administrative and criminal defense litigation. She also served as a public defender during all stages of the criminal defense proceedings. While she attended law school at the University of Miami School of Law to revalidate her law degree in the United States, Marcela worked as a legal assistant at a first party property plaintiff insurance firm from 2007 through 2011.  

Marcela has been active in the litigation of hundreds of first party insurance cases representing homeowners, condominium associations, and businesses.  

Marcela is fluent in Romanian. Marcela is licensed to practice law in the State of Florida and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. She is a Member of the Florida Bar.  
Raizel Hernandez
Raizel Hernandez is a senior litigation attorney at our firm. She handles all types of first party and third party claims, as well as managing and directing trial, bad faith, and general litigation strategies for the firm. 

She graduated from St. Thomas University School of Law cum laude and prior to that received a Bachelor’s in Arts from the University of Miami in Political Science and Business Law where she graduated magna cum laude. 

Most recently, she was a part of the Miami SCO in-house counsel team at Castle Key, Esurance and Allstate Insurance Company, as a litigation and claim attorney in Special Investigations (SIU), PIP, Glass and First Party cases. She directed the litigation and handling of Glass claims for the company in the State of Florida.

Previously, she was an “A” level prosecutor at the Miami-Dade County’s State Attorney’s Office trying serious first degree felonies including fraud, trafficking, attempted murders, armed robberies, burglaries and carjacking cases, insurance fraud, and sexual battery cases. As a prosecutor, she has experience litigation jury trials, probation violation hearings and bench trials.

Before working for the State Attorney, she clerked for the Honorable Spencer Eig, where she evaluated cases, provided legal research memoranda, recommended dispositions on various legal issues and motions, and drafted orders and rulings. 

Prior to becoming an attorney, Raizel worked as a paralegal for 9 years in multiple areas of law including family law, criminal defense,  medical malpractice, PIP and BI.

Brandy Alvarez
Brandy Alvarez has been working in the area of first party property insurance claims for over 5 years. She has assisted numerous insureds in their initial claim process to ensure the best outcome and recovery for their property losses. 


During her early years in undergraduate, Brandy interned for an immigration boutique in Coral Gables. After obtaining her Bachelors in Science from Nova Southeastern University, she began her career in First Party Insurance as a receptionist, slowly working her way up to a law clerk while attending law school. Brandy majored in Legal Studies while minoring in both psychology and sociology. She graduated Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law in 2019. She is a member of the Florida bar and is licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.  

She specializes in Assignment of Benefit contracts and works closely with water mitigation, mold testing, mold remediation
companies and contractors to ensure they are compensated for the services provided.
